2010 - The Year of Craft Beer Success

Bookmark and Share

2010 is a banner year for craft brewers across the nation, according to data recently published by Brewers Association. Most small craft breweries are the Brewers Association, a BA has become one of the foremost authorities on the industry as a whole. According to new information, craft brewers have seen an increase in both volume and retail sales, something that is a big beer companies have not been able to match.

During the years in which companies like Budweiser and Busch Posted drop in sales, craft brewers generally enjoyed an increase of 12 percent in retail sales dollars and 11 percent increase in sales volume of beer. This equates to a significant amount of growth year over year, and shows just how many Americans are now finding their love for boats of all types of beer. percentages represent the combined growth of around 14 million more cases of beer sold boats in 2010 than in 2009 - certainly not figure snooping on

!

In addition, the Brewers Association also confirmed that the number of U.S. breweries in operation today is the greatest of all time. Not since 1900 has been so creating your own beer brewery in the country. 1900 saw the 1751 breweries in the United States. It fell to 0 in 1930, when the ban comes into force, the nation's breweries fell. It took a very long time for that number to grow.

In 1936, it was somewhere around 1000 breweries operating. This number decreased over the years. 1980 marked the lowest point of the ban. After 1990, things started looking up dramatically. Today, there are 1759 breweries operating across the country, which is the highest at any time since records first started being kept.

craft beer industry was responsible for nearly 8 percent of all retail dollars in the beer industry - around 7.6 billion U.S. dollars. As an interesting side note, about 3 percent of those breweries are putting their brews in cans, which is a new trend, but one that is growing rapidly in all the breweries as well as cost effectiveness and other benefits become apparent (as consumers become more accepting move ).

2010 was an incredible year for craft breweries of all shapes and sizes. However, 2011 is shaping up to be even better year, and sales are already off to an incredible start. I hope that 2011 will trump records from 2010.
